In case anyone is interested, I just called Lenovo to find out when the T410s is supposed to be available. They said early March, and it will show up on their website. None of the specs are supposed to change; they're just busy building them now.

    Cheers! - nojiri

Wow. Something in the supply chain is broken somewhere.

The rep did realize that it is currently mid-January, right? :)

do you know if the nvidia 3100 switchable graphics will be available on the March models? If I recall correctly, before they got taken down you couldn't order a t410s with the nvidia card.

The original spec sheet shows the nvidia NVS3100M available, and Lenovo says the specs aren't changing. Hopefully that means switchable graphics will come with the new machines. We shall see, eh?...

    Here's the original spec sheet:

Yeah, it also doesn't show any builds with the i5-540M processor, so hopefully the tabook will show some significant updating come March  .

Lenovo has a silly amount of errors in their published materials (website, tabook, etc.) Until I see reviews, I'd take what Lenovo says with a grain of salt.

Rather disappointing. I was ready to buy a T410s on launch (for the short amount of time they were available, the only option was integrated graphics). Switchable graphics better be available when they finally become available to order.

I noticed this little banner today, teasing me with nVIDIA:

Why is the T400s not available to customize/purchase on Lenovo's site atm?

    Another typo IMHO.

There are cheaper ones in the outlet if you are in the US.

Here is a screenshot of the T410s configuration options through my university's academic ordering site.

Note: Some options will not normally be available on the regular Lenovo website, such has ordering without an OS (PC DOS).

I get the same thing through my school's educational site. Most interesting part is that it lists the T410s as available to ship in 9 days....

I am crazy or the only difference between the 410s and the 400s is the SLIGHTLY superior processor, wich we will never notice in the end since its not for gaming.

On ebay or on the outlet they sell the T400S for 1k$, you need to be bipolar to pay 50% more for the new 410s....

Supposedly, the T410s will also have discrete/switchable graphics...

You have a point, but I dont think it was meant to be a large update since the 400s was introduced between refreshes. Though Lenovo pushed down prices of the T400s to get rid of old stock, i suspect the 410S probably is going to stay around the 1.5k mark even after they are out of them. That was what they were originally selling for before its truncated cycle.

i'm going crazy waiting for the 410s.. if it doesn't have switchable graphics when it gets here i will feel silly for waiting so long.

Anyone considering buying a T400s NEEDS to check the Microsoft Store before doing so. They have an on-again-off-again sale on both the T400s and X301 for less than $800 each. And it's for brand new units, not refurbs...
