Why isn't the Core i7-620M an option on the T410s? Is it a size limitation? It doesn't consume any more power than the i5 processors already offered. Insight?

Supposedly it does consume more power... though we'll need more data to show consistency of notebookcheck's results.

because the t410s is targeted for "thin, light, cool, on-the-go" rather than "mobile workstation?" maybe?

How similar are the i7 processors and i5s? Would it be do-able, or would there be too many different ports and parts and connectors?

    Thanks

Depends on the chipset and the socket type. The previous T400s had soldered CPUs, which meant you could not replace the CPU yourself.

May be something with the motherboard. The T410 uses a Intel QM57 Express Chipset while the T410s uses the smaller Intel QS57 Express Chipset.
