Hi Thinkpad gurus,
My 6 day-new T410s just returned back from the depot with the replacement of a fan. The Lenovo technician said that the replaced fan+heatsink was newly redesigned for reducing fan noise. I found out, however, that the fan still is constantly "ON" and, unexpectedly and surprisingly, the 1.42 bios was changed to 1.21.![]()
At the very least, it seems to mean that the 1.42 current bios might not be the right one for fan control in T410s. On the whole, I notice that the fan sounds a bit quieter than the previous one, but I can not say that it is not annoying any longer.
The new trouble is, however, that the status indicators on the keyboard such as the green light of power button are out. Before sending it to the Depot, there was no issue of the light of status indicators. With this issue, I called the Lenovo service and was told that I should send it to the depot again. As I have to work with this laptop right now, it is so frustrating for me.
I just want to know in this situation if there is any way to fix indicators-out issue by myself. No way except sending it to the depot? Any suggestions would be appreicated.

maybe it is just a broken keyboard, as them to send you a new keyboard and see whether that fixes the issue.
