I just pulled the trigger on the T410s :D , but I am however a little bit worried about the battery life. Reviews always mention the short battery life. If I get at least 3+ hours on integrated graphics I'm happy.

So please post your battery life, also include if your running on integrated or discrete. If you have nvidia please consider it running discrete even with the optimus technology.

Nearly 4 hours on the discrete NVIDIA NVS 3100 for me. It's a pretty balanced power profile.

I get about 3-5 hours from the primary and 1-3 on the secondary with my T400s. Heavy usage will still get me around 4-5 hours combined. If I have an aggressive power plan on and I'm just doing one thing, I can pull 7 hours, nearly 8. Get the Ultrabay.

I get about 3-4 on my integrated but i guess Lenovo says 4.4 with integrated and 6 cell. I'm still contemplating getting the 2nd battery (Ultrabay) since i never use my DVDRW.

I had the feeling the integrated battery is a 6-cell. So Lenovo should adjust a little their confidence in their batteries.
I only saw the bay-battery as 3 cell, an option to buy.

How do u get guys so long battery lives? My is something above 2 hours... It is so bad.. What browser are you using? Do you have wireless on?

The T410s is a 6cell, but just 44Wh. At the moment my max is 36Wh after half year of use.

BTW, where do you guys from Europe get your spare batteries? I want to buy a new main battery. It will cost me the same as the ultrabay battery but give more battery life.

Well to start i do a clean install of Windows 7 on here so no Lenovo software other than drivers for the UltraNav and Power Driver 1.60 (not Power Manager). My battery is semi-new with about 43Whrs left.

Windows 7 Professional - Balanced Profile
    Browser - IE 8
    Flash - Not Installed
    Brightness - 6/15
    WIFI - ON - Balanced
    Bluetooth - Off

I have a WXGA+ LCD also which supposedly uses more power than the normal WXGA ones. I generally get at least 3hrs of usage though unless i lower down the brightness to get even more.

Gonna start now, 10:10 EST. Battery at 100% - i'll come back when I'm down to 10% warning.

Test wont be constant usage since i'm at work but it will be used browsing this forum and others so average click read, click read kinda browsing.

    And here she is

I was downloading a 1.36GB File also during this whole time so that probably sucked 10mins off especially when it was copying aroundand all that.

Also to note this was with wifi off using LAN since there is no WIFI at work (govt buildings :D)

Let me see if I have this right. In 3.5 hours you didn't complete a 1.36GB file download?

LOL yeah tell me about it. Wasn't even worth the download as i already deleted the file. At work (town hall) we have a 50Mbps connection so i can normally download at say 3-5MB/s from Microsoft.com and other big sites. This one site here was only pushing say 50-120KB/s for the file for whatever reason and it took 1hr 45mins or so to download. So while not exactly 3hrs it still was downloading during most of the test.

Thanks for posting these results; a lot of my usage on battery is similar type. This is a T410s right?

Assuming the gauge is linear your machine turns out 5.5hr total, 7.8W. Let's say 8.3W with wifi. Hmm that's pretty good imo. I was going to ask if you use an ssd but it shouldn't matter compared to the 1.8" hdd's.

I wonder if not using Power Manager is beneficial; only problem is not being able to change battery charge thresholds.

SHoTTa35, also which processor do you have?

5.5? You mean 3.5hrs right? :D I would be more than happy to get 5.5hrs!! But yes, i got 3.5 that day and no i don't have a SSD (yet :D) I actually have a T410si which is the Core i3 2.13Ghz version. Had a T410 and the Core i5 in that thing was fast but i wanted light and cooler (and was hoping for better battery life with the i3 vs i5 in the normal S version. Guess it didn't make a difference! )

The screenshot you posted shows 33min remaining at 10%. That translates to 5.5hrs total run time. Maybe your instantaneous power consumption was low at that particular moment? What was your screen brightness and cpu level during this test?

In any case, now I wonder if power manager might lower your consumption? Right off the bat I don't see options to turn off the optical drive or option to set the processor to 'deeper sleep' in windows power.
