I might be a bit behind... I don't know. I only check once a week or so. But there it is.

Unfortunately it isn't with a faster speced processor and you have to get Lenovo's SSD. I was planning on using the Intel X18-M 160GB G2 in that laptop. I guess I will keep on waiting to see if a new CPU comes out and a non-SSD option... I am in no rush!

Also... Does anyone know the mechanism for switching? I understand that it is not Nvidia's Optimus technology, which is a pity in my opinion. Will it be similiar to my W500? I don't even use that switchable graphics.

I thought it was Optimus since they use a discrete nVidia card.

It would be cool if it's Optimus. Also a pity that the W510 doesn't come with Opt. since it also has the NVIDIA card.

Damn, that's expensive! For that price you might as well just go with a Vaio Z. Better looking, more portable, and more powerful,

Vaio Z is less reliable too... the hinge on the Z machines are no where as strong as the Thinkpad's stainless steel one.

Also, like many sony's ultraportable laptops, the parts used on them are proprietary and non-removable. No removable optical drives and substandard docking option.

Do you really even need more power in such a small form factor? I'll take build quality over the other things any day.

    wow.

This interesting thread on the T410s has turned into a Sony bashing hissy fit....not surprising at all anymore, here in the Lenovo forum that is.

Personally, I'd rather have a manual switch for the discrete graphics over Optimus any day.

You saw the other one, so that should be of no surprise. Merit alone should separate the laptops enough for people. But I tire of hearing that something looks better as a pro compared to a Thinkpad.
