I came across two cases:
1. Local sale of T41p which is: Pentium M 730 1.7GHz, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB 7200 rpm HDD, 14.1" 1400x1050 TFT driven by FiireGL T2 graphics covered by 1 year IBM wararnty (international). Two additional years of wararnty can be purchased on top of its current price, but the service my third-party lab related to teh shop or the improter.
or
2. T43 off Ebay from Thinkpadworld seller: Pentium M745 1.8 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, same TFT but driven by ATI Radeon 9600 covered by IBM Global 6 months Financing warranty + 3-years Mack extended international warranty.
Both are under IBM "refubrished" claim, to be considered as like new and sold being packaged and stuffed as new.
There are also available similar T43 from teh same Ebay seller with the same spec except that with ATI x300 graphics for about the same ballpark.
At the end, both choices are similarily priced (bringing over this T43 to Israel in total is as much as the T41p locally).
What do you say ?
-
I personally would get the local T41p.
Why? you get the 7200rpm harddrive in it. Video cards are similar since the FireGL t2 is based on the 9600 -
Thanks for the opinion.
Oddly enough, the T41p isn't mentioned in tabook, weird... -
The other odd thing is the T43s usually come with the x300 not the 9600.
-
T43, without question. T60 would be an even better choice.
-
my choice would be the t41p, its firegl is 128mb. while the x300 is only 64mb.
btw the t43 is sonoma cpu, which means it has 533mhz. the 745 pentium is a 400mhz. -
they are lying if they said they are selling a T43 with the 9600 in it. also the T43 should have the option for a P-M 740 (1.73 GHz) or 750 (1.86). did you mean a T42?

Xmm weird, I just copied the info from his auction page. I doubt I could be mistaken twice (on graphics and CPU platform)...will re-check myself..
