    Hi,

This is in regards to the T42 model.

How do you remove the optical drive (any manuals available)?
Is a DVD-RW available for this laptop? If so, where will I be able to purchase one?

    Thanks. :)

The optical drive is in the Ultrabay. There is a lever that ejects the drive, and it slides right out. There are DVD drives available directly from Lenovo and some on eBay as well.

Are any manuals available online? My aunt isn't very skilled when it comes to technology and such would be of great help to her.

I would suggest eBay cause Lenovo is going to charge you an arm and a leg.

The service manual is located on Lenovo's website.

try lenovo website. Or google for t42 manual. Lenovo has manuals for t60/61, etc, so they should have t42 manual somewhere.
