I had my T42 2373-8YM (1.7Ghz) for around 6 months or so now.
I've noticed that the fan comes on after about 10 minutes and remains on, no matter what load is on the processor.
The fan is not very loud, but I don't think it should be on all the time.
According to Mobile Meter, the CPU temp is 38-39C and HDD is 34-35C. This is when surfing the web and working on a Word document.
- I've set the processor speed down to the lowest setting to see if the fan turns off, but with no result.
- I've tried upgrading the BIOS and all other software to the latest versions.
Apparantly, the Pentium M can operate properly up to 100C. Why's the fan on?
Is this anything to be concerned about?
Can any other T42 owners tell me their CPU temperatures and whether the fan is or is not on?
Any advice would be appreciated!

That does seem unusual. The fan on my T41 almost never comes on. When it does, it is for like 10 seconds.
I know things, things that could get me killed
