One factor that not many talk about in their reviews is the heat generated by the machine. I've noticed that most new machines (Dell, HP, LG) have heat problems even with the centrino processors. For example, the dell latitude D600 is well known for the heat generated on the left palm wrist.

I currently have a A21M and there is no noticable heat but that could be because of the low processor speed (800mhz) and slow hard drive.

So how is the heat on a IBM T42 (especially on the keyboard and on the right side, where an external mouse is located)?

I just got the latest T42, it's not even opened yet but once I've used it for a couple of days i shall report back, unless somebody beats me too it!

With using the T40 I have no heat issues though.

My T42 runs pretty cool, no complaints on heat at all.
Andrew, what model of T42 did you get? Is it just for a review or did you buy it for yourself?
