I have been thinking about getting a T42 and was wanting to know what kind of memory I should get if I didn't upgrade the memory from IBM. I would like to buy the memory from www.newegg.com Thanks

You need PC2700 memory. Make sure it si the 200 pin SODIMM. I bought my upgrade at NewEgg.
