    Hi,
Recently I bought a Vaio S series... but the fan is extremely extremely extremely annoying, plus the keyboard sucks. I am looking into buying an IBM, as I heard of their superior build quality - this is something for school, so I will be lugging it around a lot. What is the main difference between the T series and R series thinkpads? The only real difference I see is the size, however the price of the R series is much much lower than that of the T series. Note, I am buying this from the UK.

    Thanks in advance,

    Farid RENER

If you want to the legendary Thinkpad quality, then you will want the T-series. The T-series has the magnessium alloy cover and a titanium chassis. The R-series is plastic everywhere.
