Here in Canada, with French being the official second language, when the machine says "French" or "French Version" next to it, does that mean just the OS is French (which can be changed to English by reinstalling I presume) OR is the keyboard a French keyboard with French letters/symbols ect?

    Thanks

I'm not totally sure, but be careful on that one, the French standard is not a QWERTY keyboard but rather AZERTY (image attached showing this). I'd imagine most manufacturers adjust the keyboard layout when selling in France or to French cultures -- though I'm not sure.

Some differences, obviously enough to not go with such a machine though. Thanks for the image.

I was under the impression that the keyboards are French Canadian rather than French France. I believe the French Canadian keyboard is QWERTY, but I'm not 100% certain whether the keyboard on these laptops is the French Canadian version. It would be nice if someone could confirm this. Thanks.

once, i bought a French desktop keyboard from radioshack in toronto, and it was defenetly QWERT, the only diffrence was the home, end, pageup and ...

so i would assume french canadian keyboards are NOT AZERTY.
