Greetings. I just had a Real Time Clock Error on my laptop; one minute it was booted up & sitting idle, the next I had a black screen with the RTCE msg. When I rebooted the computer the date had set to Dec 2000.

In the past when I have had clock issue with a PC it was because CMOS battery was failing, although I would expect to get a msg about it before hand while booting up, so I am trying to get myself prepared to replace it should the need arise.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the location and means to replace it; I am guessing it is under the keyboard somewhere; do I need to remove the palm rest as well?

    TIA

    K
