    T420 Installation disks....

    Hi All,

    I recently formatted my T420 to install Linux, however I forgot to create the installation disks for Win 7 Pro.... Im in a bot of a pickle now. Anyone know where I can download them from?

    While you can't do anything about the original set of recovery discs unless you call up Lenovo (which may require a fee), you can still obtain Windows 7 discs from this particular thread here. If you need guidance on how to do a clean install of Windows then feel free to use my guide for the T420 (its in my sig).

    You might want to post this over on ThinkPads.com. Someone over there may have a set they sell you for cost or a nominal fee.

    Will I be able to use the Win 7 key I have in my T420 with these ISo files?

    Yes, the COA should be on the bottom of the machine or battery. Alternatively you can call up Lenovo and they can ship you discs for ~40 dollars.

    Lenovo might waive the fee for you, if you're in warranty. They did for me when I had to order recovery discs for my T510 (I also have 3-yr depot on it). YMMV.
