    I've had the T420 since it first came out and the backlight just went out... I want to get a screen but I do not want to get the 900p screen again. I want to buy the 768 this time.. Just want to get a few "yes it'll work" answers before I downgrade. I don't see why it wouldn't work, right? lol

    It could be a bad inverter as well. Cheaper and easier place to start.

    In case you replace the screen, get an LG one. It's far better than the Samsung and AUO panels out of the three suppliers Lenovo used.
