Finally, there is a professional review for T420..

Lenovo ThinkPad T420 - reviews - Notebooks - All Purpose - PC World Australia

don't think it is any more useful than user review :p

Anyway, their battery life test gives 3.5 hours (6 cells), full brightness and playing videos. So, with reduced brightness, 9 cells, and less heavy activities, should be able to reach 10 hours as reported..

In our battery test, in which we disable power management, enable Wi-Fi, maximise screen brightness and loop an Xvid-encoded video, the ThinkPad's 6-cell, 57 Watt-hour battery lasted 3hr 30min.

    Two excellent user reviews:

I tried yesterday with my 9-cell battery, and some browsing in Chrome with 10 open windows, and battery life was around 10 hours.

The brightness was at 7 or 8, it was in my living room at night so 7 or 8 was more than enough.

ic, great!! Finally, I will have a laptop that can last almost the whole trip from US to Asia (provided I charge my laptop at the airports during the transit waiting time).

He could be like me, I can't sleep on an airplane, to little room. And I really wish I could, I'm so envy when going down the aisle in the middle of the night and 80% of the plane is sound asleep. ;-)

haha, yup sometimes I sleep, but most of the time, I force myself not to sleep so that I wouldn't have jet lag. Normally arrive in the night time and because I am too tired, I will forget about the jet lag and go to sleep soundly :)
