The rumored (and I think now confirmed) X1 is supposed to have a 350 nit Gorilla Glass screen. It will be interesting to see if it's IPS. It isn't out yet so there are no reviews on the type of screen, quality, etc.

The specs indicate it's a 1366x768 resolution screen, sadly. That means it's dead on arrival for my personal use.

I think everything else Lenovo has planned for this calendar year is already on lenovo.com.

Do you know how the latest 14in Elitebook(either res) compares to these models here(including gamut %).

What's the 1920x1080 screen like to live with?

I need a hi res screen for work and would prefer to have it on the laptop and not a separate monitor.

So I am thinking of getting the 15.4" W520 or T520 with the FHD, but don't want to end up with eye strain!

Anyone know what it is like to use day to day for work?

Some people have different rate of eye strain, what works for one won't work for another person.

In Windows 7, the fonts and that can all be adjusted, the FHD LCD isn't as hard on your eye as it would be under Windows XP.

But it is best that you go to some computer store and check it out yourself.

    Third option: turn off ClearType.

i had a play with the T420s at the Lenovo channel partner roadshow today, the LCD on their machine looks pretty good. It is much better than most of the other Thinkpad LCD that i have had in the T400, T61, T410 and T400s.

...Has anybody picked up a T420 recently? Can anybody comment on whether the screen quality has changed since the initial run?
