Hi, is there anyway to replace the T420 screen with the 1600 x 900 as i currently have the 1366 x 738? I have searched a compatible match for the display on amazon after searching through the forums. Does the smaller resolution display have a different connector to the larger one?

    Thanks

You can have a read of this thread where a user changed his display on the T420. Since you're upgrading from HD to HD+ most likely you'll need to upgrade the LCD cable too which is part number 04W1618 for the HD+ screens, the HD screen cable is different as that uses part number 04W1617 instead.

I have upgraded the cable and ordered the monitor, but having tried 3 monitors (including the old one) all are acting like the backlight or inverter is blown. Only a faint image shows up on the screen. About to take it apart and reseat the cable for the third time. Any suggestions?

So is it necessary to buy cable in order to replace screen from 1366x738 to 1600x900?
