My T420 works with a crucial M4 and 16GB of RAM. OS is Server 2008 R2 with SP1 everything works wery well an fast.
Until i install the Hyper-V role, the notebook starts very very slow menas 15-20min and its impossible to work in windows.

When i disable the intel VT option in bios everything work fine, but hyper-v need this option enable.

The T420 works with the newest bios 1.39

i have found the failure, but can`t fix it.

Hyper V role use the DEP (Data Execution Prevention), when this feature is disable on BIOS the host maschine boot very well but hyper-v doesn`t (16GB of RAM). With 8GB RAM if i enable the DEP feature on BIOS the host machine boot and the hyper-v startet.

So the problem start with more then 8GB of RAM and DEP feature.

What are you using for RAM in the 2x8GB configuration?

We have quite a few people in my company using X220, T420, T420S and W520 with 16GB and 32GB configurations and Hyper-V.

Is Mac memory any different than PC memory? I wouldn't think so but I would check with Corsair.

I used the Corsair PC memory.
