I've read some threads saying that the newly arrived T420 won't downgrade to the older bios, does this mean that it is no longer able to run egpu? Or does this mean that it can only run egpu under 2G Ram?

    Thanks~~

    Or use Setup1.x

    Or order a dGPU model

Or just pray Lenovo puts out a BIOS update with a TOLUD switch (unlikely?)

dGPU models with the NVS4200 aren't much of an upgrade over the Intel iGPU.

Also you can downgrade, it's just a pain in the butt and a lot of messing around with the BIOS files.

Is the E series also affected by this change?

As there be any concerted effort to try and discuss this more on the official lenovo foums? Sometimes things like this get picked up, and passed onto the engineers.

There is already a thread in the Lenovo forum about the TOLUD issue, yes. Long one. No official resolution in sight last I checked.
