    Hey all,

Just curious if this is normal. My 6 cell battery has a little wiggle to it. Like, if its sitting on my lap, and i put my hand under the battery, i can push up on it and it moves a little. its not perfectly snug. is that normal?

    Thanks!

    My T520 also does this.

It should be okay if it's a little wiggle; it's there for thermal expansion/contraction room. If the noise bothers you, you might want to add a layer of tape in the battery compartment.

My T60 and W510 do that. Actually, both batteries wiggle a lot, but I never had any trouble arising from the wiggling issue for over 3 years.

However, my 9-cell battery on my T420 does not have that problem. Actually, the battery seems too tight when sliding in and out. I have to squeeze it out and back in. Solves the wiggling issue but comes at the cost of easy removals.

I believe that it's generally thought that the presence of some play is actually intentional so as to allow for thermal expansion.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's both common and harmless.
