This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     T420 blocks skype from from accessing the sound card

    Hi,

    I am using T420. I used to be able to use skype with my laptop, but recently (about a month ago), I start to have problems calling using skype. I cannot hear sounds and the other side does not hear me as well. I got an error message in skype, stating that "Can't access your sound card". I reinstalled skype several times but the problem still exists.

    I suspect that it is because Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox blocks skype after certain updates. Anyone faces the same problem and how did you solve it?
