First time I booted up this computer, I got a BSOD; what could be the reason for this, and is there any reason to be concerned?

Also, the thinkvantage app crashed on me twice in the past 24 hours. How can I prevent this from happening again?

Edit: Also, my GPU is always showing a 100% usage.

Have I just gotten a defected product that needs to be sent back, or are there fixes that can be done as of now?

Could you describe what you where doing when you got BSOD?

I would recommend sending it in regardless.

I was just setting up windows, and while it was setting up my desktop for the first time, my computer just BSOD'ed on me. There hasn't been a system crash yet, but it did scare me a little bit.

They didn't let me send it in, they just suggested updating my drivers. Is there anything I can tell them that will let me send it in?

Reimage it from the recovery partition (spam F11 at startup) and see if maybe you just got a bad image from the factory.

What program are you getting the 100% GPU usage in? If you are looking at ThinkVantage, that's to monitor clock speeds, and not usage. Try stress testing it with OCCT Linpack and Furmark for at least an hour, if it BSODs or fries, it is defective.

Yeah, re-install everything using the recovery partition. I had a similar problem a couple of Thinkpads ago and I just did the recovery and everything was fine.

If it's not fine after that then send it back.

    Thanks for your guys help,

I am first going to re image it, then if that doesn't help, recover it with the partition, and a last ditch effort to see if I am incorrect - I am going to to the OCCT test.

Thanks for the replies guy, I really appreciate the help.
