Which linux distro's work best with a T420. I have heard that some have compatibility problems and require some external hacking to get everything up and running. I am really not interested in that, I just want an OS that is good to go from start up.
Does anyone have experience? Any recommendations?

I have Fedora 15 on my T420s, had a little trouble getting it installed since then everything seems ok. Mine has the optional Nvidia graphics which I don't have working under linux yet (using the intel integrated graphics for now), I do know there is a profile for the T420 listed on the Bumblebee site, I have just been too busy with other things. The problem with installing was the install DVD and the net install DVD would not boot the installer, they would throw an error regarding missing device /dev/floppy However the live "spins" DVD's would come up and run, and they have an option to install to hard drive which worked. The result was a running install on the hard drive, I just never had the option to pick optional packages during the install phase, so I had to add a lot of stuff through the software installer interface, not really a big deal, just an annoyance.

ps I do have a few little quirks with Fedora, sometimes the battery ap on the tool bar stops working or goes away, also I sometimes get black bar graphics corruption in firefox when viewing larger jpgs, reloading usually fixes them -
Any distro with a recent release or any bleeding edge distros will work fine, I believe. I run Arch Linux on it with no problems.

Thanks Isaac-1!
What do you mean be recent release EZjijy, and also by "bleeding edge"? I am not used to linux vernacular, sort of new to the game.
