Are the trackpad buttons on the T420 meant to be uneven / not level? The left button on mine is about 1mm higher than the right button where the two buttons meet, though on the outer edges the buttons are both flush with the case. In other words, the left button seems to be angled up slightly when looking at it head on, such that it's higher on the right edge of the button than the left edge. I couldn't capture a good photo of it, but it's something like:
Both of the buttons work OK, but the unevenness means that it's easy to end up clicking both at the same time when I mean to click only the right button. Is this a design "feature" or just some quirk that's particular to my unit?Code:___________________ --------- ---------------------------- | LEFT BUTTON | RIGHT BUTTON | ---------------------------- ----------------------------

I don't know if they were meant to be uneven by design but I can confirm that my buttons are just as you described.

Mine are even.

So are mine on both machines.

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like there is some build variance on these machines.

they should be even, if this is worrying you, you can ask for warranty replacement.

I think my T61 trackpad buttons are uneven too, but i'm not at all bothered by it because one it still works and two, I always disable it for the humble TrackPoint.

Bump: has anybody else received a T420 like mine?
