They both are almost the same price. I'm a Thinkpad fan, but want to get the U310 because of it's thickness and it has 3rd generation processor. The t420i has a nvidia nvs graphic card. So in performance, which one is better? I heard someone in here said the U series has bad cooling system. What do you think?![]()

Okay, so, I'm viewing this on my work computer (while I wait for SVN to update). Clicking on these images, which are hosted on ImageTwist, bring me to webpages that include NSFW banner ads and popup ads. It might be wise to upload your images to a different host.

you may want to wait for the T430u, which is a ultrabook. It will come out in Aug, hopefully

Photobucket is another, SFW alternative you should check out.
As for the laptop, both are pretty much the same as far as usage is concerned. They're both lightweight, thin laptops that'll last roughly 4-6 hours on battery. The T430s will be built better though and have the possibility to upgrade to a business-class warranty, whereas the U310 (while a nice, mostly-metal laptop) is stuck with Lenovo service (IBM handles all Thinkpad service).
I'd lean over towards the T430s over the U310, but that doesn't mean that the U310 is a bad laptop. I just returned a U310 review unit and I liked it for what it is:

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
You can't really compare a 14" workhorse laptop to a consumer ultrabook. Perhaps maybe if you compared an X220/X230 to the U310, you'd have a better comparison.

Unless you have a need to do processor intensive applications, there'll be little difference between the CPUs. The best thing you can do to boost performance is upgrade the drive to a SSD or faster hard drive like the Momentus XT.

Turns out they don't have the t420i, but they have t420s

From the looks of things I think the prices are in Hong Kong Dollars so it would equate around $977 USD for the discounted price. The thing that surprised me is that even without VAT or Sales Tax, ThinkPads are still relatively expensive in Hong Kong. I went to the official Lenovo store a few years back and baulked at the price for some of their models, in the end I found I was better off buying it in the UK with VAT on top!

Ok, at last, I still bought it since I don't have time later. It seems great right now, but it feels heavy with all those Lenovo softwares...

seems like a good deal...
