    Hi, I have a T420s with the intel 80gb msata and a 320gb hdd.

    I am looking forward to upgrade the HDD. Are 1tb drives available on the market? Can someone guide me on the options available? I did a brief search on the forum but the latest discussions seem to have ended in 2011.

    The T420s requires a 2.5" drive that is 7mm high.

    There are 1TB hard drives on the market, but they are 9.5mm or 12.5mm high.

    For a 7mm HDD, I suppose you have to settle with 500GB, like the Hitachi Travelstar Z7K500.

    Very sad to hear that there have been no new 7mm HDDs out in the market. I think I read somewhere that 9.5mm ones can fit as well? Is it difficult to get it working?

    I believe that you can fit a 9.5mm hard drive into an Ultrabay on the T420s.

    I have the caddy too but I usually need the extra battery/ cd drive so unfortunately it's not an option for me.. :(
