    Hello, ThinkPad world!

I have bought a T420s online and wish to install both (1) a second battery in the UltraBay drive, replacing the DVD drive, and (2) an SSD that I already own -- Intel X25-M G2 80gb 2.5" -- to complement the existing 320gb Barracuda 7200rpm HDD.

The T420s is so light and compact that I'm thinking I may not physically be able to get all this in there and thus may have to choose the best two outta three among the HDD, the smaller but faster SSD, and the extra battery life of an Ultrabay battery.

    Say it ain't so.

No need to compromise. Use the msata Intel 310 80gb, performance is identical to your X25-M since it uses the same controller. Regular hdd bay freed for your Seagate [Momentus] and ultrabay for the battery.

How? Does Seagate make a 7mm thick HDD now?

Yea Momentus Thin, first 7mm production drive. They are the other supplier with Hitachi, to Lenovo for the X220, T420s and some Edge models.
