I have a T42p that I reinstalled windows on about 2 months ago. I used the windows wireless driver and elected not to use the ibm access driver. the wireless worked fine until recently. now it says that there are no wireless signals when there clearly are. I'm not sure if its a hardware or a software issue and I need some help. thanks.

Right-click My Computer > Device Manager > Network Adapters (or similar) > Right-click and uninstall the wireless device. Restart the computer.

Use another computer to download the wireless drivers from here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-55386.html#wireless

Be careful of which wireless driver you download according to OS and wireless card manufacturer. Transfer the driver to your IBM and install it.
