I want to upgrade my T43 with a second harddrive for backup, using the HDD Adapter for the Slim Ultrabay.
Currently my T43 is equipped with a 80GB 5400rpm drive.
I thought about buying a 7200rpm HDD with the same capacity and use this as the main drive to take advantage off the higher speed. The currently installed 5400rpm HDD would then serve as the backup drive.
Has anyone done something similar ?
According to ThinkWiki Webpage the Seagate Momentus 7200.1 ST980825A should work right out of the box, without showing the "Error 2010".
Has anyone upgraded their T43 with this drive and can confirm the statement ?
    Thanks.

I can't confirm, but I know T43s have issues with non-ThinkPads firmware. You might want to look at the forums on ThinkPads.com as I know there is more info over there on this issue.

I checked the ThinkPads.com site. It turns out that the advantage of the higher rpms is not really that noticeable. So I will stay with my Fujitsu 5400rpm drive and buy a second one for backup.
    Thanks zazonz for the advise.
