I was trying to purchase T43 on the web page tonight... and I couldn't seem to get it with bluetooth... does anyone know if that is possible?

I also couldn't find a way to buy it with an extended battery. (just the 2nd ultrabay battery).

    Any ideas out there?

They list the ultrabay battery under accessories, so you could add the T43 to your shopping cart and then go to accessories and add the battery, It's not going to be any more expensive that way. As far as bluetooth goes, I believe bluetooth is right on the front page for configuring the T series, as a check box under wireless options.

Actually I was refering to the 9cell extended battery. Not the ultra bay. I found the bluetooth on the T42... but not on the T43.. :( I also can't find a single review that mentions bluetooth on the T43... perhaps they dropped it ..hmm

    I looked again..
    "Bluetooth wireless option
(Please note: Not available w/ T42 1.70GHz processor/15" XGA display or T43 models)
    Integrated Bluetooth"

So you can't pick bluetooth on the T43.. dang.. I HATE having to put a dongle on a USB port for external mice. I've broken two USB ports that way... :(

I'm sure if you called IBM, they would help you find one with Bluetooth.

Why not go for the T42? The only major difference is the graphics chipsets on the T43's use a pci-express interace, but the chipsets used on the T42's are still perfectly adequate for most things, and you can probably get a better price anyway.

I'm shopping around now. I'm use to buying gateway and dell laptops where you can only get them from one vendor and having to wait a month to get it. Perhaps all these vendors will have some in stock.. :) that would be fun to get it sooner!

Do people here have a good recomendation for a vendor to buy from?

Yeah, especially considering the fact that the standard 9600 used on many T42s is better than the standard X300 used on many T43s. And the performance increase of an Alviso CPU over a comparable Dothan CPU is mostly insignificant.

I wanted to stick to the 14.1 inch screen. This beast will be the companion to my 3ghz 17" HT laptop. So it needs to be more portable.

If the 14.1inch screen came in a ATI 9600... that would be real nice...hmm.. oh yeah.. I am also going for the 1400 resolution (SXGA) since I do quite a bit of programming.

Searching all over the net now.. :)
