can you customize the t43 on the ibm site? it doesn't seem like it...
if you click "build your own" for the t series it gives you the t42 as base model and if you click on "view all models" you will be able to find a select few T43's preconfigured w/o a customize option

    anyone got an answer?

The widest selection of IBM notebooks is available from the IBM education website http://www.ibm.com/education/us

Tip: On the edu site to see the widest selection choose "show only:all products" and "sort list by :product code" Doing so today displayed 26 pages of notebooks.

If you're not a student, teacher, or an alumni you can still call IBM and order a model you find on the edu. site. The IBM credit card discount sites, like http://www.ibm.com/businesscenter/visa , seem to offer the same prices as the edu. web site.

Also when you buy directly from IBM they offer a 30 day price protection and return satisfaction guarantee. IBM offers special promotions too. Recently they've offered double memory for free.

Forgot to add that IBM offers build-it options on the edu. website in addition to the wide selection of stock models.

Just be sure you have 8 hours of free time to go through every notebook on their site.

The IBM education site is the worst I've seen. It is so impossible to navigate.
