my T43 makes long contiunous beeps.. not the loud ones like when u press too many keys on the keyboard, but ones that sound like an old desktop computer connecting to a dial up internet connection.
please help, it only makes the sound when i switch battery profiles to Maximum performance..
i thought my fan was broken, but i checked. it still works.
I noticed that earlier today, playing halo, my cpu reached 68* celcius..
that or 78* i cant remember.. (although its a big differnece in terms of how screwed i am)
    thanks,
    David K

Your fan spindle could be slipping...... it will still spin but there is some stuff that is causing friction in the spindle and the motor to cause these noises.......

But to make sure your fan is the culprit, download TPfancontrol off internet, and load it then set fan speed to zero for like 10 secs, to ascertain that it is indeed the fan that is causing the problem. Then set fan speed at 7 and see whether the problem comes back.

then it could be problems with the motherboard itself.......
