    Hi, my school is offer a pre-configured t43 with the following specs, these specs are taking off the schools computer store website.

    Model: 2669-W8M
    1GB DDR2 533MHz RAM, 60GB 5400rpm Hard Drive, DVD-RW MultiBurner, ATI Radeon X300 64MB Graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, 56K Modem, Intel Centrino 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN, 14" SXGA+ Display, Secure Chip, Hard Drive APS, VitalSource Preload, Windows XP Pro, 3Yr On-Site Warranty with ThinkPad Protection Plan

    price: 1799


    Is this a good deal, plus will thsi computer last me 3-4 years


    note: the ram is only one dim and is a full 1gb

    Yeah I'd say that is a pretty good deal. Thinkpads are the best built notebooks.

    It looks pretty good since with these options, the warranty, the ram, and the other stuff it will cost you atleast 1600 from DELL's inspiron line. But this is a T series IBM built for professionals so it comes with a biometric scanner, hard drive protection, additional security features like encryption hardware, and really good build quality (I think the thinkpads use titanium alloy chassis).

    That's a sick deal! Thinkpads have the best build quality overall - very good machines!

    I'd say that deal is almost as good as the EPP prices, if not better. Good job!
