All,
I just found out that Asus recently shipped the Asus 6v6, which one can customize at Star Tech with one critical disadvantage that you will no longer have Asus warranty, but rather have the authorized dealer's warranty.
Both systems have almost identical specifications with respect to CPU, 60 GB 7200 rpm, 1 GB of RAM, ... There is one important difference between the two system, which favors the Asus. It's the video card (x600 vs. x300). I am little troubled by this. I read from one of the notebook magazines, which I do not recall the name, and found out that despite the similar specs between the T43 and Fujitsu N3510 having the x300, the Fujitsu score 2-3 times higher with respect to 3DMark01. Could it be due to the HardDrive software protection running the in the backgroud that impedes the performance of the T43?).
With respect to the screens, which system has the edge?
Overall, how's the build quality of Asus? How's Star Tech service and warranty?
Is it worth it to return the T43, which I will receive by next week, and get the Asus instead? I could not find any review or first impression discussing the Asus 6v6. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

First of all its called the V6V. Second, there is a review on the HOME page up at the top of the ASUS V6V. The reviewer compares it to the T43 in many aspects. He concludes that it (V6V) performs better in graphics intense situations and games. Otherwise they perform similarly. Read the review.

thanks. as I did some searching yesterday, i didn't see the review.
fishfood, check out my post with respect to your t42 question, which was posted a few days ago when i first noticed this forum, if you're still interested. -
If you want a better gaming machine, go with the Asus V6V. If you want a better build and keyboard, go with the T43.
