Okay after enjoying windows 8 for about a week. I decided to try my luck with another try installing Windows. And I stumbled upon this option in bios for legacy os. Which allowed me to finally install windows 7.

But now. I am overwhelmed with the drivers. I have installed optimum ethernet and wifi drivers. My question is what other drivers should I install... Do I need the various Intel chip set drivers? Most of the others are optional I am just wondering about the chip set drivers..

The Intel chipset drivers would be recommended, especially since the T430 have native USB 3.0 ports so it would be a good idea to install it. In some cases it may also clear out some unidentified drivers in the Device Manager too.

I've installed most of the Intel chip set drivers.

Is there a driver for display when volume change and caps lock toggle?

    Yeah, it's the Hotkey/OSD driver.

Thanks so much.. Seems like the realtek driver doesn't have the dolby surround sound capability to that windows 8 had. :(

The Dolby enhancements work "on top of" the RealTek driver. Try to download and install Dolby Home Theater v4 for Windows 7. (I suggest you create a Restore Point before doing the installation, just in case you need to "roll back.")

    I'm glad you're able to install Windows 7 on your T430. :)

I was about to install that without a restore point :O

I got lucky. I was forced into bios after a botched attempt. And i saw the legacy or uefi os or something haha. Thanks!
