I just bought a T430 off gumtree, but the screen is absolutely unusable, otherwise would be a great laptop for general use.
I am thinking about replacing it with a 1080p IPS screen that's easy to install (not interest in doing any mods, just take the old one out and put the new one in).
Any screen recommendations?
Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no screen that fits the bill.
-
so my best option is still the X1 Carbon screen?
-
If you're referring to the one shipped in the original version of X1C, I'd say "yes".
The hi-res IPS panel seen in the "new" Carbon is not compatible. -
Has anyone on the forum done it before?
-
I can't offer any personal experiences, but check out this thread:

Alienware M14x panel is good as well. (comparable to X1C) It's glossy but has no screen door effect.
-
don't m14x screens come with FHD option too?
-
But is it compatible with the T430? Same connector etc?
-
No, only the new models. You might as well look at the T440s in that case.
Like George said, the best panel you can use is either the X1 Carbon display or the early M14x display. (up to R2 or R3 I believe)
T430 screen upgrade to 1080p IPS? Possible?
