    Hi,

I have a t430s and one day randomly the speakers stopped playing any audio except for windows system sounds (nothing from youtube, the web, or windows media player, etc). Of course I tried re installing the driver for the realtek speaker system right away which did nothing. Device manager says all devices are working properly.

However, when I right click the volume control on the taskbar, and click "playback devices", it simply says "no devices are installed".

The computer will still play youtube/windows media from the headphone jack, but when headphones are plugged in, system sounds still play from the speakers only. It's almost like the system sounds have been hardwired to the speakers only and music/videos have been hardwired to the headphone jack only.

Does anyone have any thoughts at all about how to fix this? I even did a system restore to several weeks back when I know it was still working right but it didn't change anything.

    Thanks.

Anyone? This is an incredibly frustrating problem and seemingly no one else's solutions are working for me. I've tried reinstalling the realtek audio driver god knows how many times, I've made sure the BIOS and Intel drivers are all up to date, I am at a loss that this computer will produce no sound. Argh!!!!! Lenovo!!!!

    Hi,
Did you find the solution for your problem. I am having same problem as you have described in your original post. I tried reinstalling all the related drivers many times but still no sound.
    Thanks

I had to refresh windows, which was annoying. It basically returns the computer to its original delivery condition, so you lose a lot of your software.

Update. My good luck lasted 2 days.
Lost sound again when playing video on Web BROWSERS (I. E, FIREFOX, BLUEMOON)
Windows system sounds are still there.
