I'm another disappointed owner of the crappy T430s display. But that's not what I wanna complain about today. There's another problem.

The brightness of the display seems to change based on what I'm looking at. If I'm viewing a web page with generally dark colors, the screen gets dimmed down. Then when I switch to another page that is generally white or has light colors, the screen gradually brightens back up...

Is this another defect of this disappointing screen or what?

The screen is not that disappointing nor defective. You may want to search on "Automatic Display Brightness".

Depends on which screen you get in the shipment lotto. I have the T430s with the Samsung screen. It's OK.

Here's another Intel HD 4000 setting to look into:

I think it was on the T430s I received. I think it was also enabled on the Samsung Series 9 I received.

Drives me nuts so like everyone else, so I go looking for all of the places that effect "dynamic" display properties. For instance, on the Samsung Series 9, you have the Intel GPU settings, the Samsung "Easy" Setting application, the Windows 7 or 8 power management profile, etc.

It's Fing crazy the number of locations you have to check.

Err... It makes photos/videos of minimally dressed humans look more real on the screen. :D
