    T431s air intake only on the bottom?

    It appears that air intake on T431s is on the bottom. So, if I put laptop on the lap, what happens?

    There is a large intake on the right side.

    That appears to be the exhaust as the ribs of metal heat exchanger are visible. It looks like air is sucked in only from the bottom.

    this heat vent (and air intake) design is pretty similar to what is used in the T430u, so putting the laptop on your lap should be okay, won't cause it to heat up too much.
