I am trying to order T440p but could not find the info on 6cells and 3 cells battery. I am wondering that the battery can be charged externally or it has to be on in the machine itself. (In the situation of i have 2-3 battery that need to charge in the same time.)

Also i cannot find the link to order the dock.

    Thanks

The T440p has either a 6-cell (57+) or 9-cell (57++) battery that as far as I know cannot be charged externally, plus a 3-cell Ultrabay battery is also supposedly available, according to a Lenovo rep., but I'm not sure this one works with the new ultrabay so double check.

    6-cell: Thinkpad Battery 57+(6 cell) | Lenovo | (US)
    9-cell: Thinkpad Battery 57++ (9 cell) | Lenovo | (US)
Ultrabay: ThinkPad Battery 43 (3 Cell - Ultrabay Battery) | Lenovo | (US)

The new generation of docks are called the Basic, Pro and Ultra Docks and are pretty easy to find on the site, but so far I have not found anywhere to buy the 135W Ultra Dock

    Thank you for replying.

So this Ultra Dock should work with the new t440p right?

on The battery questions how do i charge them externally in the same time?

That Ultra Dock will work with the T440p, but if you have a quad-core machine you'll need the version with the 135W power supply.

No idea how to charge batteries externally. Not even sure if it is possible.

Obviously Lenovo wants you to buy more t440's to charge your other batteries

Will that work with the latest batteries?

Either that page needs to be updated to include the 57+ and 57++ or it isn't compatible. I'm guessing it would work, as it appears that a lot of battery models work - they must not change the interface.

The pins on the new batteries look the same as my X220. I've got one and it charges the battery fine despite the X220's battery not being listed. You can get these chargers on eBay pretty cheaply.

ThinkPad External Battery Charger | Lenovo | (US)

Compatibility according to this page is only up to the X220/T420/W520 era. Nothing after that is mentioned, which of course doesn't mean it won't work with newer batteries but it's worth checking. It might not be only about the pins/contacts, but also about the controller

In the Q&A Lenovo says you can use the 90w dock for a system that "needs" the 135w supply. I don't really understand that, but that's what it says.

I have not seen the 135W for sale in the US at all for some reason. The 170W version is available from resellers, but apparently not Lenovo itself. Maybe it will appear next week when the W540 and T540p are launched. Google the part numbers and see what you can find:

    135W version: 40A20135US
    170W version: 40A20170US

It'll work, but the CPU will probably throttle to use less power. When it comes to docks that will not only have to power the 47W CPU and GPU but also countless USB devices I'd always go for the beefiest power supply possible. Of course you could use the 135W supply that came with the laptop, but that sort of defeats the purpose of paying extra for a dock with a dedicated power supply.
