So I was examining a few pictures and the lenovo service manual, and it appears that there is a third M.2 header on the top of the motherboard. It looks to be situated between the SD card slot and the trackpad.

You can see the unpoplated pads on the picture here, its location in the frame here (looks like it even has a screw hole for the card), and what appears to be a card in the same location in the Lenovo Service Documents here (part 21).

Does anyone know if this port is live? Perhaps with some careful soldering (read hot air) we could add the port and allow for two M.2 SSDs or a M.2 ssd on WWAN enabled systems, or even something more exotic like an eGPU.

    What do you all think?

Edit, after further investigation, if it is indeed an M.2/NGFF slot, it would be a B key. That would be a PCIe x2, SATA, USB 2.0 and 3.0, Audio, PCM, IUM, SSIC and I2C capable slot.
