I am slightly confused with the fingerprint reader and NFC options when configuring the T440p.
Could someone please explain why having a fingerprint reader with NFC is cheaper than having just the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader with NFC is also cheaper than having no fingerprint reader or NFC. This seems a bit silly to me or am I missing something obvious here?
I have also seen that selecting the NFC option has caused building and shipping delays, so would it worth paying more for just the fingerprint reader, or spend less and get NFC as well at the risk of running into time delays?

Well, I think you assume that the Lenovo pricing makes sense.

    It doesn't.

Haha, fair enough. Might as well pay less and get NFC then, even though I have no use for it .

Not much really. The only use it seems to have at the moment is to make payments if you have a NFC card or your phone is set up to do it. You could use it to transfer contacts or something but it can only transfer small amounts of data.

Is there some Lenovo app that lets Google Wallet(?) on the phone work with it to use it for payments?

NFC can be also used to pair BT headphones... you just touch the surface of both devices and it will turn on Bluetooth automatically and connect (at least this way it worked between Sony Xperia Z and Sony BT headphones). I would consider having it if it is for some reasonable price.
