I'm disappointed to see that my T440s only has 2 M.2 slots (the one under the smart card reader assembly is missing). There's a subtle hint of this on the online configurator. If you don't specify an M.2 caching drive (as most don't if they are planning on fitting an SSD) then Lenovo don't supply a third connector.

This is a real shame - I would have bought the caching drive I didn't need if I'd known this. It's especially a problem if you specced a WWAN card, as I did, in your build because it means there are no free slots.

I'm hoping that the 3rd slot is retrofit-able but I can't find anything promising in the BOM.

If anyone knows of a solution (maybe a part number from the M.2 daughter-board the next time they dare to remove the base) I'd be very grateful.

    Thankyou!

It's going to cost me more than the unwanted M.2 caching drive I could have ordered (£31.66 in the UK) it with but it's worthwhile for the extra functionality.
