I have had an X1 Carbon for the past year and whilst it has been mainly reliable and has changed by laptop keyboard experience forever, the battery life is HORRIBLE. With WWAN on, the battery lasts about 2.5-3 hours on the lowest brightness setting.
When the new X1 Carbon with Haswell was announced, I was super excited (longer battery and thinner too?) But I was not impressed by the new keyboard layout. Nor was I impressed with reports online of only a 1-1.5 increase in battery life (especially to fork out for another laptop after only a year). This led me to poke around the Lenovo site and find the T440s, which based on dimensions online, is thinner than a normal MBP even with touchscreen. However, I still have not yet made up my mind. It is a balancing act and to that end I am seeking more information from those on this board who have experience before I make decide which side of the line my preferences between these two refreshed machines will lie.
My first question is about the battery life of a T440s. What battery life might I expect (with inbuilt LTE on) from the 3+3 cell vs the 3+6 cell?
Secondly, how long does it take to charge a 3 cell or a 6 cell battery respectively?
Finally, how much height does the 6 cell battery add to the machine? Is it a very noticeable increase (keeping in mind that I am switching from an old X1 Carbon)?
Thanks so much!

For the 3-cell: high brightness & wifi gets about 5 hours. Lower your brightness and you easily extend it to 6. Not sure about WWAN, but it shouldn't take a huge amount of power.
Also haven't checked the charging time, perhaps around 3 hours? It certainly does not have RapidCharge.
There is a significant bump in the six cell battery that protrudes from the bottom of the laptop. You can easily find pictures online, e.g here.
