Would any of you T500 users be so kind and check what firewire chipset does this laptop have? I found some info that it might have Texas Instruments chipset which is of utmost importance for any pro audio devices to be connected through it. Anyone who's into using laptops as digital audio workstations knows what a pain in the neck can be trying to find the laptop model that actually has TI firewire. So, I would be more than thankful if you helped me.
    Thanks a lot! ;)

It's pretty urgent that I find out what firewire chipset does T500 have. It's really easy to get this info if you are a T500 user - simply right click on My computer / properties / hardware / device manager / and there you should find IEEE 1394 bus listed; click on a plus next to it and the fw controller's brand should show up; if not, right click on it and choose properties and you should have the manufacturer's name written on top of the window.
Please help me with this one as it's quite urgent! I need to buy a new laptop and this firewire issue is my main consideration.
    Thank you!

My W500 has a "OHIC Complient IEEE 1394 Host Controller." That doesn't look like a Texas Instrument controller. What's the importance of having that kind of controller?
