    Lenovo said it would never be supported on the T500 but I was wondering if this is still the case.

    Is there anyone with a T500 getting audio over DisplayPort these days?

    the lack of audio support is due to a hardware limitation.

    Correct. There is no audio over DisplayPort in the Tx00 generation, and there won't be.
