I have a T500 with XP Pro SP3 and I can't keep it connected via the wired connection. Sometimes 15 mins sometimes its an hour. Its looses the IP address randomly. My other laptop connects fine - never ever a problem. But it won't connect to the network either after the T500 has one of its little episodes. The router lease time is set as high as it will go ... days at minimum. Any ideas at all? My wife's T60 used to do the same thing. Any info at all or clues would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

i had the exact same problem. it is due to power saving. open device manager ->network adapters-> gigabit network connection-> properties. switch off the check box in power management tab, then go into advanced tab-> system idle power saver--> disabled

    this will set things right

Yep ... that did the trick - disabling the power management stuff for the network adapter under System Devices. Thanks again.
