The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    T500 Gigabit LAN downgrading to 10Mbps after short while

    Vista Bus 64 - Norton 2009

    If I reboot, status will show that it's at 1gb. I can move files between PCs very fast. After a while, it will eventually report 10Mbps and transfers are really slow (much slower than 10).

    I tried switching cables. No luck.
    There are other network cables running alongside it so I don't think it's noise.

    Any ideas?
