Recently my t500 with switchable graphics unexpectedly freezed and crashed and I got the bsod. I was browsing the internet with itunes in the background The computer restarted it self, and then double beeped with an error saying the SATA harddisk could not be found or run or something like that. I powered down, unhooked from the wall plug, and took out the battery. I re-attached the cord, and battery and booted up and it worked fine.

In addition to this I have noticed that the active protection system, when activated is quite loud from what I heard on my previous t42p which did not make a sound when it was activated, however on the t500 you can clearly hear a small squeak when aps is activated

My questions are, are the two related, and should this be delt with? It should be noted that the computer freezed, the aps was not activated or would have been as the computer was sitting still on a desk.

    Thanks

You could run HD Tune to see if there's any issues.
